This review is referring to the blue building at 4101 Gulf Dr.The sign in front of our unit says Castnetter Beach... Resorts but the rental is called Castaways 1 and 2 (2 units)We arrived at our rental after an 8 hour drive February 1st. We had booked the unit for a month . We found the following1. Broken toilet paper dispenser.2. Shower faucet was loose3.Lamp Broken in master bedroom4 Several Electrical outlet without cover and not secured to wall and/or not working5 All Windows Filthy, some never got cleaned after complained because cleaners couldn’t reach. Sandy said she would send someone, no one came. Reminded Terry. Never got done. Even after some windows were cleaned they still appeared dirty as they were so old and etched6. Closet bifold door did not close as too close to floor7. Paint peeling on ceiling8. Filthy throw pillows that hadn’t been washed.9. Filthy upholstered bench10 Upholstered couch and chair needs cleaning11 Carpet needs cleaning12. Light bulbs missing13 Kitchen sink pipe leaking under sink and causing bad smell and very poor water pressure which was resolved when plumber cameFeb 514.Listing described “updated designer kitchen” when in fact cupboards were from 1960s, gaps were cupboards met ceiling, no blind on window above sink. Terry has since changed his ad. but I have a screen print of the original ad.15.Fridge gasket was unattached and hanging.16. Stove old style burners didn’t hold pots and pans flat. Egg would end up on one side of pan.17 Inadequately stocked kitchen No large bowls18.Ad stated picnic table and there was no picnic table and after complaining one was never brought19.BBQ was filthy old and rusty.20.One small chair with no arms on balcony.21.Noises in walls from animals.22.Entry door not appear secure, frame gouged like someone broke in, key lock broken, weatherstripping hanging, a lot of people have combo for combo lock, maids, handyman , plumber, electrician. Suspect he never changes it as was given combo on Dec 4 when arriving on Feb 1. No Safe in unit to store valuables in lieu of this.23. Outdoor stair light not working.24.dirty fingerprints throughout the unit25Terry would often say he had to contact the owner, Mark, in order to get out of doing things when in fact we find out, he is the owner and Mark was the previous owner.26.Terry left the information info binder that the previous owners supplied, that contained information on who to call if there is a problem, etc. When we called, they said they haven’t handled this property for some time and the binder should have been removed26. When we met our neighbours in the adjoining unit, Castaways 2, they also had a shopping list of complaints, including the shared complaint regarding the animals in the walls.We had to spend some of our vacation at the unit while they fixed things as there was no trust in the owner and no Safe to put our valuables. This all caused me a lot of stress and anxiety which lingered throughout our vacation and we also lost sleep between the anxiety and noises from animals in walls.I asked Terry for compensation. His reply was, we got the place for a discount of 3,749.00 when we booked it which is a lie. I went on line and booked next year 2021 on AIRBNB for the same time period and was given a price of $6,604.00. We paid $6500.00. Where is the so called 3,749.00 discount? Besides, The so called discount we got back in November wasn’t compensation for what we where unknowingly about to go through, it was for taking the unit for an entire month. We would have never booked it for any price if we would have know what we were getting into and who we would have to deal with.Terry is always on vacation. It is either a lie or his way of getting out of doing thingsTerry and Sandy have several properties. I think they are irresponsible owners and only care about their vacation and no one else’s. I want to warn other potential renters or have These owners learn to treat their renters with respect.read more

This Beach Resort does not pay their bills. I worked on an old pool heater in bad shape. I told Alan Gary that I did... not advise trying to fix it. He said he wanted me to replace the motor, so I did. He agreed to pay the bill no matter what the outcome. Now he owes me $500 and will not answer the phone or text me back. Now I have to sue him. Stay far away from this unscrupulous character. He's a bad eggread more

Very close to beach so location is great. Love thw rooms and service is good

A flip key resort. The accommodations are great, neat, clean roomy surprisingly low cost for what you get.

Excellent vacation spot. Across the street from the beach. Very clean and comfortable.
